Jim Corbett national park is set up in an area of about 1300 Sq Kilometers in the foot hills of Himalayas. The river Ramganga is the life line of the park. The Major animals apart from Tigers are Wild elephants, Monkeys, deers, Chitals, Sambars, Hog deer, and barking deer etc. There are also crocodiles, Gharials, wild boars, Monitor Lizards and Jackals. The best time to Visit Jim Corbett National park is from Oct to June.
Named after legendary British Hunter – Jim Corbett, this was the first Tiger reserve set up by the British government in 1936. Jim Corbett was a known hunter, and often British Government sent him to kill Man-eaters of Kumaoun Region. He put “Kumaoun” – an unnoticed region of Uttarakhand on the world map. His encounters with the wild are mentioned in famous book “Man-eaters of Kumaoun”.

How to Book Jeep Safari in Jim Corbett National Park ?
Permits can be normally obtained at Dhangarhi Gate or at Amdanda Gate. Only Jeeps of Resident guests at Dhikala are allowed to enter the park. Canters are available at Bijrani gate for tourists. Best thing is to book your Jeep ride in advance, so that you can plan nearby hotel accordingly.
